Fifth Birthday: By The Numbers

We like numbers at Mill City...because every number has a name, every name has a story, and every story speaks to the redeeming power of God.

City Group Serves Amy's House

The early church was known for their commitment to one another. Acts 2 describes a community that prayed together, ate together, learned together - and even sold possessions to care for one another. In the first few centuries, followers of Jesus became known for running in to care for the poor, sick, and oppressed when everyone else was running away.

Through City Groups, we have the same opportunity to care for people around us. In fact, it isn’t just an opportunity - it is our passion. We have a passion for every family in our city to be known, loved, and made whole.

Avant-Garde (a 20-somethings women’s group) recently exhibited this passion by serving Amy’s House. Amy's House is a local organization that provides holistic care for survivors of sex trafficking. Caring professionals work with girls ages 12-17 to provide an environment for healing, education, and re-gained self dignity. Amy’s House is a residential facility, and the women of Avant-Garde decorated and provided the furniture for one of the bedrooms.

Amy’s House is one of many organizations City Groups serve and support. If you want to learn more about opportunities to serve and belong, you can find a City Group here.
