Baby Dedication: Everly Tongue

We are so excited for you, Wes and Joanna, and honored to have dedicated Everly at Mill City Church.  We stand with you as you train her up in the way she should go.

We dedicate babies out a heart of gratefulness to God, recognizing that children are a gift from Him, much like Hannah dedicated her son Samuel in I Samuel 1:26-28. Baby dedications happen at Mill City on the second Sunday of every month. To schedule a dedication email: tompkins@millcitychurch.org.

Bread and Bicycles

This last Sunday we continued the series Dear God and talked about what it means to pray "Give us this day our daily bread."  As with all the Lord's Prayer, it is about much more than recitation or repitition.  Jesus is teaching His disciples what it means to participate in the Kingdom of God.  If we are to embrace this phrase it means we are to live a life of trust.  Instead of worrying about tomorrow, we thank God that He is taking care of us today.  It means that when we have our daily needs taken care of we don't just ask the questions, "What do I want?" or "How can I make sure my future is secure?" but also, "Is there anyone else who does not have their daily bread?"  When we trust God with our lives it enables us to lift our eyes beyond ourselves and counter greed (the value of the world) with generosity (the value of the Kingdom).

I shared about the need that we were recently made aware of by someone in the Mill City community who works at Harvest Farm, a 200 acre rehabilitation farm home to over 70 men seeking freedom from addiction.  Because of the size of the farm, bicycles are helpful tools to get around and when the men leave the program they are also able to keep their bicycle. Thios is very helpful as they work to get on their feet. Harvest Farm is in need of good bikes and Mill City wants to help.

We are grateful to have our needs met, so we want to be a blessing. Here are a couple things you can do:

DONATE A BIKE.  If you have an extra bike, in good working condition, bring it to church in the next couple weeks and we will make sure it gets to the Farm.

GIVE.  You can give finacially to Mill City so that we can purchase refurbished bicycles and donate them to Harvest Farms. Click here to give online (click //GIVE in the top right corner)

Let's be generous and together bless the men of Harvest Farm.  I will give an update in a couple weeks.

Run with Mill City: Fort Collins St. Patty’s Day 5k

Community is something we all long for, it is something we were made for; and, what a better way to become a part of a community than to run together! There is nothing like a 5k (or 3.1mi run) to bond a group of people, so join Team Mill City as we run, together, in the Sharin O’ the Green St. Patty’s day run in Old Town.

The thought of running can be intimidating to a lot of us who have not ran more than a mile since the required high school gym class; but, this run is not about winning, or losing, but about doing something with one another. If you have never dreamt of running more than that high school mile, or if you are an avid runner, we invite you to join us on March 17 as a way to not only support one another, but the community of Fort Collins.

We look forward to talking with you, running with you, and maybe crawling with you. Mill City is a great journey together, and we hope to run through this life with you!

To sign-up please click here and register under the Mill City team. Also, in order to get a free Mill City t-shirt for the race, please email Cherissa at: cherissa@millcitychurch.org no later than Monday, March 12.
